Ivy Resin
Ivy Resin is gum resin exuded from incised bark of mature trunks of Hedera helix L., an evergreen woody climber of Araliaceae native to temperate Europe and West Asia. Documented in European traditional materia medica, it yields little resin naturally and is rarely traded commercially. Containing irritating hedera saponins, it is not suitable for internal consumption. Historically applied for topical herbal preparations, dental pain relief and ancient incense, it is seldom used in fine perfumery today, mainly supplied as botanical extract raw material.
